The DeRidder Police Department maintains its criminal investigations division with a three man unit. The unit is supervised by the Chief Detective with two subordinate investigators. This division, despite its size, has the duties of conducting follow up investigations from the patrol division as well as new felony cases. These crimes can consist of the lowest grade felony to a homicide. A DeRidder detective must be trained in all forms of criminal investigations and must be able to change specialties as needed. This is a proud unit of three who's career goal is to provide the best service possible to the citizens of DeRidder.
